Our School Counseling Program

The counseling program here at Mountainview strongly upholds the mission of our school maintaining a child-centered concern for the needs of our students. Often we identify circumstances in the lives of our children that are common to peers. One way to provide emotional support and help for those students is to offer group counseling sessions. Group counseling can be effective in helping children understand that they can share some issues and concerns that will help others as well as themselves. We believe that talking with peers in a confidential manner and with the guidance of us, the counselors, can help to relieve stresses that often accompany changes in a child’s life.

Throughout the school year we will offer different groups to the students of Mountainview. Depending on the grade level it will depend on the groups that are offered to those students, but the following groups will be conducted by us:

  • Lunch Bunch

  • Social Skills

  • Anxiety

  • Self-control

  • Everyday Issues

  • Bullying

  • Changing Families

  • Organizational

  • Grief and Loss
